Last Wednesday Robert Barakett showcased it’s fall 2022 collection in their Midtown Manhattan showroom. The collection features simple styles in beautiful and comfortable fabrics and neutral, versatile shades.

Founded in Montreal, Canada in 1996, Robert Barakett started a brand named after himself with a focus on sportswear for men. Since then, the brand has crafted a variety of polos, t-shirts, sweaters and outerwear consisting of 400 different textures. In 2016, the brand combined with Jack Victor Limited, another Montreal-based menswear company.

Garment structure retention and fabric finishes that ensure lasting color are crucial components of the brand’s clothing. As seen in the fall collection, Robert Barakett’s clothes are treated with special washing techniques, have unconventional pairings of yarn size and knitting gauge, and collars that maintain their shape.

With comfort being a priortity, the brand focuses on cultivating super soft fabrics. The brand’s t-shirts with cotton based dri-fit-like fabric is what expanded the brand in first place. The brand’s director, Jeff Block explained that Robert Barakett’s soft fabrics allowed the brand to have retail success in large stores, such as Nordstrom.

Coming in a variety of colors, Block explained customers enjoy the brand’s t-shirts for their comfortable fabric. “The t-shirt in twenty colors we always had, that’s what people really love. It just feels great. Anything we do with this fabric does great,” he said.
