Hudson River Park is excited to unveil the lineup for the 24th annual Blues BBQ Festival, which will be held on Saturday, August 10th at Pier 76, from 1 pm to 9 pm. This free admission event promises a day of live blues performances, delicious barbecues, desserts, and drinks from local vendors, and new family-friendly activities like the Blues Dance Floor, BBQ Marketplace, and Jalopy Theater.

The Blues BBQ Festival has been a summer favorite in the New York region since 1999. It’s the longest-running free blues festival in the region. Sponsored by Hudson River Park Friends, the Jazz Foundation of America, and Lagunitas, with media partners WBGO and WNYC, the festival is a highlight of Hudson River Park’s 2024 season.

The mainstage lineup includes Brooklyn-raised singer-songwriter Alexis P. Suter, accordionist Dwight Carrier (Blackcat Zydeco), vocalist and Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee Sheryl Youngblood, six-time Blues Music Award winner Joe Louis Walker, and the Altered Five Blues Band. The Jazz Foundation of America will present a second stage with artists like The Phil Young Blues Experience, Tina Fabrique, Charlie Burnham, Beareather Reddy, and Gordon Lockwood.

Festivalgoers can indulge in mouth-watering offerings from iconic BBQ joints like Mighty Quinn’s, Blue Smoke, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Kimchi Smoke, Jase’s BBQ, Bark BBQ, Dickson’s Farmstand, and La Newyorkina, offering a range of authentic and innovative barbecue dishes and desserts.

New activities include dance classes from Blues Dance New York, a BBQ Marketplace featuring hot sauce vendors like Mama Lams and SD Sauce, and children’s games and activities like live screen printing and an instrument petting zoo at the Jalopy Theater.
