Summer is officially underway at The Seaport. Today the Seaport Museum kicked off sailing season, with remarks by U.S. Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) Erika Mallin (Executive Director, New York State Council on the Arts, Gale A. Brewer (NYC Councilmember District 6), Tammy Meltzer (Chair, Manhattan Community Board 1), and Capt. Jonathan Boulware (Seaport Museum’s President and CEO). Goldman did the ceremonial ringing of the 1908 lightship Ambrose bell to mark the start of the 2024 Sailing Season of the Museum’s historic 1885 schooner Pioneer and the 1930 tugboat W.O.
