Last night, a celebration was underway at The Fulton by Jean-Georges, marking its third anniversary at The Seaport.
The two-floor waterfront restaurant introduced a new spring menu, sure to whet appetites, as well as inspire Instagram feeds. The Fulton marks Jean-Georges’ 12th restaurant opening in New York alone, 36 worldwide.
This summer, he is preparing to open his sprawling 53,000 square foot new fish market, simply called Vongerichten,in The Tin Building.
At The Fulton, a selection of champagne and cocktails such as rhurbarb mimosas and ginger margaritas flowed at the onset of the evening. For the first course, there were East Coast oysters; a multi-tier Gran Seafood Platter with Clams, Scallops, and King Crab; Florida Red Snapper Ceviche; as well as Long Island Fluke, with habanero vinaigrette, sichuan bud and mint. For the second course, the warm Octopus and Fresh Mozzarella made a nice pair.
For entrees, the spring lineup included a must-have dish called Longevity Noodles, that includes glazed Maine lobster, green chili, and ginger, in addition to a classic Black Sea Bass, served with fava beans, spiked carrot broth, and peanut romesco, and Crusted Faroe Island Salmon, with poppy seed, snow pea, piquillo peppers, and lemon thyme broth. Beef eaters will crave the Gruyere Cheeseburger au Jus, with crunchy onions, and a dijon chili mayonnaise.
Desserts included a decadent Chocolate Peanut Cake, served with banana ice cream, as well as a lovely Edible Strawberry Pot, and The Fulton Cookie, prepared with Valhrona chocolate, marshmallow, and pretzel, that knocked it out of the park.
With longer days ahead, diners can gaze out on the waterfront at Pier 17 and enjoy weekend brunch with cocktails at The Fulton, too, between 11am-4pm.
