Sky Teams up with Volvo for Luxury House Car Services

Earlier this month, The Moinian Group announced its launch of a luxury house car services for residents of the Vue Penthouses at the top of Sky, the iconic rental tower in Hell’s Kitchen.

To offer the service, the group has teamed up with Volvo, the Swedish Luxury car manufacturer.

“We wanted to provide unparalleled service and ultra-high-end amenities, typically associated with a premier hotel, to our building’s Vue Penthouse residents. And we are pleased to work with Volvo in this first-of-its-kind arrangement with a luxury rental,” said Sky’s developer Mitch Moinian of The Moinian Group.

For the model of the house car, they’ve chosen the custom XC90 Excellence SUV which offers spectacular in-seat amenities, including beverage heating and cooling options, Orrefors Swedish crystal champagne flutes, iPad holders, and ultra-soft Nappa leather seats.

“The Volvo XC90 Excellence represents the pinnacle of modern Scandinavian luxury. Residents of Sky will appreciate arriving in style and comfort with Volvo,” said Jim Nichols, Tech and Product Communications Manager at Volvo Car USA.

The residents of the Vue Penthouse can enjoy the service every day between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. and it will take them seamlessly around Manhattan.

“Our tenants live in unsurpassed luxury and that includes the Volvo house car for our Vue tenants, allowing them to travel the city in style and privacy,” added Moinian.

As for what’s next for Sky, we’ve yet to see. But the luxury rental market in New York City is vastly growing and developers keep surprising and upping the game when it comes to luxurious living and the services they offer its residents.

“Other buildings may look to us for an idea of what to do next. What will always set our product apart is our commitment to ultra-luxury living and the tenant perks of this exclusive Volvo collaboration,” Moinian explained.

Sky offers city’s first tenants-only room service

Last week, The Moinian Group announced that Sky — New York City’s most luxurious rental building and the country’s largest in a single tower — is the only residential building in the city to offer room delivery service exclusively for tenants. Residents can order healthy food, nutritious drinks and alcoholic beverages to their units via the tenants-only “Life Time Health” mobile app, which offers quick delivery services from the building’s in-house LifeCafe.

The Moinian Group is the first real estate development company in New York City to answer renters’ demand for healthier and faster food delivery via their innovative room service offering. “We provide residents with a five-star amenity that other buildings have yet to offer their tenants,” said Mitchell Moinian, SVP of The Moinian Group. “The primary advantage of this service is that it allows tenants the ease, privacy and convenience of ordering within Sky, an advantage they don’t have if they order takeout from a restaurant.”

Natasha Vardi, SVP of Residential Properties at The Moinian Group, added: “Tenants are pleasantly surprised when they encounter this service because it is so unique and unusual for a residential building to provide. Typically, people order from a local restaurant and hope that it comes within a reasonable span of time.” But with the mobile app, Sky guarantees delivery from its LifeCafe in about 20 minutes. “In New York, such a short delivery time is unheard of,” noted Vardi.

The healthy food delivery options include breakfast, lunch and dinner options like salads and sandwiches. Tenants can also order delicious fruit smoothies, shakes, wine and beer.

Last month, Derek Jeter went to Moinian Group’s Sky where he met up with Mitchell Moinian — SVP of The Moinian Group — and Eugene Remm, who were working out at Life Time Athletic, the luxurious fitness club open to the public within Sky. The last time Jeter and Remm hung out was at Remm’s September 2016 wedding to model Valerie Goldin. As a partner in the EMM Group, Remm launched the restaurant Catch in Los Angeles and New York City. He also opened the boxing fitness center Rumble in Chelsea in the fall of 2016.

Jeter then made his appearance at an 8760 club event, a collaboration between Wheels Up and Apollo Jets, where he shook hands with private aviation clients.

In the motor yard, Kusama’s monumental bronze pumpkin will both delight and astonish with its carefully carved out details. Guests who enter into the David-Rockwell designed, award-winning lobby will find two of Kusama’s “Infinite Nets” gracing the already exclusive space.

Kusama’s bronze pumpkins were exhibited in London at Victoria Miro in 2014 for the first time and along with her other artwork, they have also been displayed in several countries. Having her artwork at their luxury rental, Sky keeps adding more style and exclusivity to their already great location between Hell’s Kitchen and Hudson Yards District with stunning views of both the City and Hudson River.
