It’s never too late or too early to start collecting art, especially when it’s actually affordable. Potential buyers and art lovers can browse a wide range of works from today’s leading art galleries including Manifold, Art Angler, Rebecca Hossack Gallery, HOV Eye and Galerie Youn. The Singularity series is dedicated to showcasing films that explore the ever growing intimacy between science fiction and reality and its impact on human lives… This weekend audiences can check out Ridley Scott’s epic Blade Runner: The Final Cut or Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. $15.

“To gauge the state of art in America today,” and to some degree America’s political and social landscape, look no further than the Whitney Biennial, the first at the museum’s new space. Though there are fewer artists, the quality of the work is notable especially from artists Dana Schutz, Jo Baer, Samara Golden, Celeste Dupuy-Spencer, Rafa Esparza, Henry Taylor, Sky Hopinka, Asad Raza, Jordan Wolfson and many more. As always, it’s an unmissable New York art event. Tickets start at $17; Fridays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM pay-what-you-wish.

  1. Indoor Farming Tour

Herbs, flowers and micro greens! Oh my! Farm.One’s Hydroponic Farm Tour is a chance to explore New York’s secret indoor farming trend. You’ll lean all about hydroponic farming, introduce your tastebuds to a host of new flavors and take home a box filled with “unusual herbs” and fresh produce to use in your next meal. $50.

Mark your calendars! Friday, March 31st Wowfulls opens its first brick and mortar, serving Gai Dàn Jai, or 1950’s-style Hong Kong egg waffles brimming with ice cream. 2. Adventures in Art and Technology

ARTech: Adventures in Art and Technology is a new pop-up activity space that allows kids and adults to take part in “STEAM-based experiential workshops, installations, and interactive moments.” Whether it’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Mathematics, these fun activity stations will foster curiosity, teach problem solving and build confidence. FREE!

3. New Retro Restaurant Bar
The Flower Shop (Lower East Side)
Sunday-Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM; Thursday-Saturday from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM

Flower Shop, the new 3,000 square foot bi-level restaurant/lounge is basically a 1970s adult playground. Upstairs, feast on oysters with grapefruit and black pepper mignonette, or fried chicken with curry sauce and burnt lime. Then, head downstairs, to the party den, to play a game of pool, browse the jukebox tunes, stare aimlessly at the fish tank or sit back with with the Pirate Rose cocktail by the funky, pink fireplace.

Want the ultimate chill experience? Indulge in a toxin-free manicure or a relaxing massage, accompanied by ube-bey latte, beet-root horchata or a glass of organic wine and treats from Maman, Po-Po’s and Ra Bliss Balls. Chillhouse opens Tuesday, Mar. 21, providing us with a much needed respite from this long, ugly winter.

5. Mykki Blanco with Cakes Da Killa

Rapper, performance artist, writer and activist, Mykki Blanco is a force to be reckoned with! Unconventional, radical and flashy, her rhymes are sharp – careful not to get burned! She tours with Cakes Da Killa. $17.

6. The American Line

A line speaks of borders, directions and roads. The American Line is an exhibition that “interrogates our many understandings of the line.” On displays are paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Liz Larner, Sol LeWitt, Paul McCarthy, Richard Prince, Fred Sandback, Lawrence Weiner, Christopher Wool and Sue Williams. 7. Conveyer-Belt Sushi Chain in NYC

The U.K.-based conveyer-belt sushi chain Yo! has arrived in New York! Creative takes on Japanese street food and sushi, color coded by price, are up for grabs. Try the New York City exclusive Avocado Nori Taco, the flame-seared Salmon and Ikura Sushi or the crispy Katsu Sando.

Drink, Draw & Take Action is a creative way to have your voice heard. Create handmade messages to members of Congress on issues that matter most.  All you need to bring are stamps: blank postcards, markers, pens and crayons will be provided, and you can buy drinks and snacks from the tasty Housing Works Cafe. Over thirty years later, James Cameron’s The Terminator is still one of the best films of all time! We have seen it dozens of times and we are going to see it again because right now we need a reminder that evil cyborgs can be beat. $15.

Already a huge hit in Rome, Trapizzino has opened its first ever U.S. location in New York! A sandwich/pizza hybrid, the rectangular bread pocket is split open and stuffed with rotating Roman specialties like pollo alla cacciatora, carciofi alla Romana and parmigiana di melanzane. Make sure to try the suppli, the Roman version of the riceball.
