British Invasion For Men

by Sean Capobianco | Mar 26, 2022 | Grooming | 0 comments

British M, is one of Korea’s top luxury salon hair brands.  It is known for its innovative technology and commitment to the environment and a healthier world.

Great news, it is OK if she used your products, the morning after. British M products are gender-neutral, eco-friendly, recyclable, and made from sustainable resources with no animal testing. So far so good.

British M products have been known to be used by celebrity stylists including those in the high-powered Korean music and entertainment industries.  Let’s see what this masculine guy from Florida thinks!

I consider myself a well-rounded groomer, I believe in staying in shape, and opening doors for my date. I love to cook, that’s thanks to my Grandmother, who believed men too should know their way around the kitchen.

Too many men fail to recognize the importance of personal hygiene, staying in shape, showering, and being well-groomed. Don’t just slap on any cologne, or grab your brother’s hair products, and for some guys, you know who you are, showering when you think you need it, is out of the question.

Be sure to look for quality over quantity, stop using poor-quality hair products, filled with chemicals, they can cause harm by affecting your scalp and hair follicles. Do your research when it comes to picking hair care products, trust me, ingredients & formulations matter.

No more using the combed shampoo, conditioner, if you shop for the least expensive products you’ll get what you pay for.

BRITISH M Airy Wave Cream

After sampling British M products over the last 2 weeks, here’s my review. I was not thrilled with the scent from the Wave Cream but felt it offered moisture to my hair, especially with living in Florida, my hair tends to get dry. It was easy and flexible to work with.

BRITISH M Dandy

The British M. Dandy paste was one of my favorites. It offered volume and held my hair firmly in place without causing a sticky residue.

BRITISH M Kombucha Shampoo

The Kombucha shampoo is of good quality, the scent it’s sweet but offers a natural smell, definitely unique and masculine. I’m not a fan of over potent fragrance, it tends to fight with our cologne.

BRITISH M Kombucha Mask

Their Kombucha Mask, I enjoyed, the scent, not too overpowering again, a fresh clean scent. After the mask treatment, I did notice the difference in my hair.

BRITISH M Urban Matte Clay

The matte clay reminded me of professional barber styling wax. I like the sculpting results it gave my hair an all-day hold. The scent was fresh and not overbearing.

All in all, I give British M’s product a 7 out of 10, reasonably priced, you can purchase on Amazon and I was cool with the results.

Pisterzi: Cutting Through the Chaff

Pisterzi Italian Grooming Art changes the way New York men look at grooming with a unique approach to the barbershop experience.

An unlikely shelter hides in the heart of downtown. Freezing winds, erratic snows, and city stress fall away in Pisterzi Italian Grooming Art’s latest Atelier, an authentic Italian barbershop in SOHO that brings new levels to the barbershop experience. Italian Master Barber Gian Antonio Pisterzi, the company’s founder, created Pisterzi Italian Grooming Art to make his own mark with an Italian style unique to the city with locations in Milan and NYC. His newest location, at 367 W Broadway, is the first to match with the colors and textures of his brand, a space that he can claim as his own. The new space embraces an intimate boutique feel of a sanctuary, which Pisterzi aims to enhance with the shop’s two private rooms where clients can enjoy one-on-one services and get pampered by the expert hands of Pisterzi barbers. Pisterzi wants to create a bubble that lets both parties focus on the barbershop experience, and to let all else fall to the wayside.

“The grooming market has grown in the past years” says Gian Antonio Pisterzi. “More men are now taking time for themselves and do not look for a simple haircut anymore. Throughout my experience, I came to know and understand better the desires and needs of customers and I have been trying to translate them into the services we provide at the ateliers. Opening a second location in the Big Apple was a step that I was longing to take, and doing it in the energetic heart of New York, felt like the right choice to make.”

Pisterzi Italian Grooming Art has also launched a new line of high-end products, which includes gels, serums, conditioners for beard and hair, cosmetics with multiple functions, and more specific treatments. The launch will also include three fragrances entirely created and produced in Italy. Born within an elegant and sophisticated Italian lifestyle, the products will also be sustainable: they will use 100% recycled paper, post-consumer aluminum, and will have reusable, refillable containers.

Pisterzi is a graduate of the prestigious Steiner Academy in London and a beholder of extensive experience as an international Master Barber in luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Acqua di Parma. Just recently, he added to his board Andrea Pirlo, the Internationally renowned soccer champion. Pirlo, who is a big aficionado of cosmetic products for personal care and well-being, faces this new challenge with enthusiasm: “I had the pleasure of personally meeting Gian Antonio Pisterzi in New York and I was struck by the culture expressed by his know-how and unique care that Barberia Pisterzi offers to its customers. I immediately wished I could be the protagonist of this enterprise which, today, evolves through a range of high-level products and a restyling of the barbershops in a sustainable way.”

Pisterzi’s other NYC atelier is located at Cipriani Club 55 in Wall Street. Check out their website for more.

5 Grooming Products You Didn’t Know You Needed

men's grooming picture

Women have it ingrained into them from an early age that a reliable skin care routine is a necessary part of life. From the cleansers we use to remove our make up to the creams we slather on to prevent wrinkles, there is no limit to what we will do for beautiful skin. Men, on the other hand, can sometimes go their whole lives without giving all the lotions and potions out there a second thought. If that’s the case for you, you may be getting the short end of the stick.

Here are five skincare and grooming products you didn’t even know you needed.

Cleanser

No more soap-on-a-rope or all over the body and over the face treatments. Soaps and shower gels are generally too harsh and heavy with fragrance, especially for the delicate skin around your eyes.

Scrub

Workouts, pollution, stress: men’s skin can get down and dirty. Use an exfoliator in the shower once or twice a week to deep clean, remove dead skin cells, open pores and prevent ingrown hairs.

Hydrate

There are those who say that wrinkles are wrinkles and no fancy cream is going to change what you’ve got coming to you. I wouldn’t take that risk if I were you. And no one can deny that hydrated, moisturized skin looks fresher, more rested and more touchable than a dry, dull face. So after you wash, always moisturize. Before you go to work and before you go to bed.

Regenerate

This might seem superfluous but since sleep is a period of rest and regeneration, there’s no better time to let a quality product work it’s magic on your skin. While daytime creams should be lighter while working to fight UV rays, a night cream can be thicker and more luxurious to promote collagen production (the loss of collagen as we get older is the culprit when it comes to wrinkles).

De-puff

If you don’t use an eye cream you are at a serious disadvantage. As women we use eye cream and on top of that we use concealer, eye shadow and mascara to hide the effects of a sleepless night, but men don’t really have that luxury. At the very least, allow an eye cream to work its magic on you at night and keep an eye gel in the fridge to use in the mornings.

Nourish

What’s all this business going on with beard oil? It seems like every men’s skincare line is introducing it. The benefit is that it allows you to have a little more control over your facial hair and it nourishes your beard. I mean you care for the hair on your head right? And if you go for the new Tom Ford beard oil you’ll smell yummy too.

Prevent

Use sunscreen! If your daily moisturizer doesn’t have at least SPF 30 in it, then put on a sunscreen after you moisturize and before you leave the house in the morning. This is the one thing we can do to save ourselves from premature aging and skin cancer. If you are new to this whole “skin care routine” business, just make sure your daily moisturizer has SPF in it already so you can skip this step.
