Lavazza’s Spring-Infused Drinks

As the spring graces us with its good weather, Lavazza shares with us three of their favorite recipes for this season. The affogato, served at NYC’s iconic Eataly, along with two DIY drinks, can satisfy you any time of the day.

Looking to spice things up with a bit of liquor? Make yourself a Lavazza Coffeetail No. 51. This special drink mixes our need for caffeine with our love for alcohol.

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts ginger ale
  • 2 parts cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 2/3 part vodka
  • Splash of Grand Marnier
  • Splash of simple syrup
  • Sliced lemon, orange and cucumber
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Fresh mint

Method:

  • Fill a 12 oz. glass with ice
  • In a shaker, combine cold brew, Grand Marnier, vodka and syrup; pour over the ice
  • Top with ginger ale
  • Decorate with wheel or slices of orange and/or a lemon
  • Skewer cherries and cucumber wedge
  • Garnish with mint

Feeling fruity? Make a mid-day drink with Lavazza’s Strawberry and Meringue Smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 ice cubes
  • ½ cup vanilla ice cream
  • 2 strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons espresso
  • 2.5 tablespoons whipped cream
  • 0.3 oz meringue
  • To garnish: 0.1 oz meringue and 1 teaspoon strawberry syrup

Method:

  • Prepare a short espresso.
  • Place the ice directly into the mixer, along with the ice cream, fresh strawberries, and espresso
  • Mix at high speed: the smoothie be thick, and not get too liquid. To reach the ideal consistency, stop the mixer every so often and stir the smoothie with a spoon to avoid lumps.
  • Crush the meringue and stir it into the smoothie with a long spoon.

Or maybe you just need a morning boost. If so, make yourself Lavazza’s iconic affogato. Espresso to wake you up with a scoop of ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop vanilla or hazelnut gelato
  • ¼ cup hot Lavazza espresso
  • Optional: ¼ cup hazelnut liqueur

Method:

  • Scoop the gelato into a serving bowl, glass, or coffee cup
  • Stir the hot espresso and hazelnut liqueur (if using) together
  • Pour the mixture over the gelato
  • Serve immediately

These springtime recipes featuring a jolt of caffeine in each are the perfect way to welcome this warm weather. Simple ingredients and easy to make, there is no excuse not to try these innovative drinks.

Earlier this week, Lavazza announced the global partnership with the legendary Andre Agassi with a flash mob of “clones” stationed in Union Square. The 150 80s mullet-donning clones channeled the iconic Agassi look, and are working their way through New York City for the ultimate consumer experience, commencing at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The flash mob marks the launch of Agassi’s “I’m Back” campaign with Lavazza at the US Open.

The campaign is a buildup to the official announcement that Andre Agassi is back at the US Open with Lavazza to “give back.” For every cup of Lavazza coffee ($3) purchased at the US Open this year, one dollar ($1) will be donated to the USTA to support the Andre Agassi Foundation to benefit education efforts for underserved youth.

Additionally to kick-off the campaign, Andre Agassi, Marco Lavazza, and Francesca Lavazza attended a private breakfast held at NoMo Kitchen in the NoMo Hotel. Media and influencers were greeted with a Lavazza coffee bar serving cold brew coffee in Agassi-silhouetted souvenir cups, build-your-own Coffeetail No. 10s made with cherry liqueur, as well as classic cappuccinos and espressos – emblazoned with coffee stencils.

Lavazza Café Is Part Of The New Eataly NYC Downtown

unnamed

Following the success of its cafés in flagship Eataly stores in New York and Chicago, Lavazza has opened a new café in Eataly’s third marketplace, which opened in Downtown Manhattan this month. Located within Tower 4 of the World Trade Center, the new Eataly NYC Downtown includes sprawling New York views and 5,000 square meters of space dedicated to Italian gastronomy. Photography and artwork behind the main counter is devoted to the ¡Tierra! Sustainability project, as shot by photographer Steve McCurry.

The popularity of Lavazza cafés located in Eataly marketplaces across Sao Paulo, Milan, New York and Chicago is reportedly drove the decision to open up in Eataly’s downtown location. This new Lavazza offers a full menu of espresso-based beverages and high-quality coffees, including a wide range of original and innovative recipes. At such, the Lavazza product range is also available for purchase for at-home use, including the renowned Single Origins: Santa Marta and Kilimanjaro.

Said Giuseppe Lavazza of Lavazza: “Our presence at Eataly NYC Downtown marks a new and important chapter in a compelling and long-standing partnership between Lavazza and Eataly — two Italian, Piedmontese companies working towards a shared vision, with an understanding that a significant part of Italy’s economic future revolves around high-quality food production.”

Lavazza continued: “The new location of Eataly NYC Downtown is very unique. Not only is it the site where one of the most heart-wrenching events in recent-day history happened, but it is also a place that symbolizes hope and enthusiasm for the future with significant social and economic growth potential, supported by sustainability and environmental protection efforts, the same values that are core for Lavazza.”

In 2015, the Eataly location in the Flatiron district counted five million visitors, and Lavazza reported sales of nearly 1.2 million coffee cups. This second Manhattan location is projected to exceed overall performance in terms of in-store traffic and quality customer engagement. Additional Eataly locations featuring Lavazza cafes are scheduled to roll out in Moscow and Boston later this year, and in Los Angeles and Bologna in early 2017.
