Simon Ardem’s New Stella Bridal Collection

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”] [et_pb_row admin_label=”row”] [et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]Love is still in the air. The latest collection from Simon Ardem–the Stella Bridal Collection–is an homage to the co-founder’s wedding in Venice nineteen years ago, drawing inspiration from the architectural wonders of the city. This husband and wife team, Ardem and Cynthia Aslanian have been running Simon Ardem for thirty years. They both have extensive backgrounds in fine arts and in diamond jewelry and collaborate on every piece in order to create quality rings with tasteful designs, ultimately creating exceptional jewelry for your every need.
Ardem and Cynthia Aslanian Founders
The collection features engagement rings and wedding bands made from platinum and rose gold as well as a variety of different diamond cuts, everything from emerald to princess.  The Bovolo engagement ring. The Bovolo engagement ring is a square, Asscher cut platinum ring. Inspired by the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo in Venice, Ardem Aslanian describes it as “an architectural jewel translated into a wedding jewel.” Several of the pieces in the collection find their designs inspired by the architecture of Venice. Of this, Ardem says, “Venice stands out as one of the most unique places in Italy, not just for the canals it’s famous for, but for its rich history in the arts. The craftsmanship of its city and architecture has stood the test of time. Our inspiration for the Stella Bridal collection pays homage to this beautiful Italian city.” The Dandolo engagement ring–named after Venetian Doge Enrico Dandolo–is made from 18k rose gold. It is set with a round, brilliant diamond on a band of pink diamonds. The Loredan ring takes its name from the House of Loredan, a Venetian political dynasty that can trace its origins back hundreds of years. It features an oval-cut diamond set in platinum prongs on a delicate 18k rose gold band. The Galleon wedding band. In addition to four unique engagement rings, this new collection also features several wedding bands. The Galleon, one such eternity band, can be purchased with either emerald or oval cut diamonds set in platinum. Of the choice to use rose gold and platinum as the main colors that make up this collection, co-founder Cynthia Aslanian says, “The warm pink tone of rose gold is a perfect complement to pure platinum, adding a unique twist to this timeless collection.” To purchase items from this collection and to see more of the beautiful work created by Simon Ardem, visit their website or follow them on Instagram![/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column] [/et_pb_row] [/et_pb_section]

Susan Alexandra Puts the Fun Back Into Jewelry

Meet Your Neighborhood Jewelry Co. That’s Putting the Whimsy Back Into Accessorizing

Gen Z-ers and millennials know the grip that colorful beaded jewelry had on us in our adolescence. Our fashion identities were measured by how many charm bracelets, necklaces, and rings we could stack on.

Furthermore, the more varying colors you had on your plasticky-crystal adornments, the better. Think highlighter oranges, lime greens, bubblegum pinks, and so on. Meet Susan Alexandra: the jewelry and accessory company that is right under your feet here in NYC. It is time we bring this gem out from underground.

The Susan Alexandra success story had humble beginnings, starting out of Susan Korn’s Chinatown Apartment.

It all started with Susan Korn’s Merry bag, named after her mother. It is boxy, crystalline, and evokes a true sense of nostalgia. It was when Gigi Hadid posted a photo with the adorable accessory in the foreground to her X-follower Instagram page that the brand took off.

“I’ll be sitting on the subway and just look down at my purse and I just feel sort of a sense of delight and calm. It’s my personal antidote to such a strange time that we’re living in,” Korn told Glamour in an interview.

Susan Alexandra is bringing that childhood joy back – and taking over the jewelry industry one sparkly bead at a time. High fashion and nostalgia meet at a crossroads in the creator’s studio; a “warm, welcoming and inclusive home for creativity and design”.

Customizable Jewelry

Alexandra’s products range from jewelry to bags to accessories to home, and more. More, includes, of course, a Bead Box, which allows SA lovers to curate their own personalized pieces from the assortment of signature beads. The thing is on a page ripped out of the late nineties and early 2000s. Seriously.

You can get as playful as you want with Susan Alexandra’s pieces. Try a lovely beaded bag or a pair of statement earrings that resemble a shrimp cocktail. Customize your own piece on the more sophisticated side with the “*Make Your Own*” “Spells” pieces. Or try the “*Make Your Own*” “Tiny Joys” collection, where you can choose from charms that represent you, like shrimp, dollars, boobs, smileys, fries, rainbows, eyes, watermelons, moons, and more!

Ethical Accessorizing

The best part about SA is the message behind the company. Every piece is handmade right here in NYC, offering a plethora of job opportunities to the market. “We believe that pieces made with intention and heart feel better, look better and create a better world,” per their company’s website.

They also make a significant effort to give back. SA uses their platform to promote charities such as ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), G.L.I.T.S. (Gays and Lesbians Living in a Transgender Society), No Kid Hungry, and Black Girl Smile. “Our community has given us so much and in turn, we want to do the same by giving back to communities that inspire us.” Talk about ethical fashion.

Jewelry That Rocks: Men’s Diamond Watches As Perfect Gift For Gentlemen

It’s true what people say that jewelry can speak when you can’t have the word. And sometimes, a person’s impression of you can be based on the piece of jewelry you wear. Further, pieces of jewelry are not only for aesthetic purposes but also for investment. Indeed, it is a wise investment as it appreciates over time.

But most importantly, jewelry preserves memories. It is certainly lasting, especially when gifted to you since you will surely feel valued and significant. These are the types of gifts that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Therefore, if you want your friends or loved ones to feel special or treasured, you may gift them with these three pieces of jewelry. For sure, they won’t forget you within their lifetime.

Customized Necklace

It’s one of the perfect gifts as jewelry because there’s some personal touch involved. You may have the necklace customized with the nickname of your giftee or the initials of his name.

Further, you can also choose a more elegant font for the name if your giftee exudes elegance and sophistication. If the necklace’s recipient is a bit wackier, you may opt to make the font look comical or artsy. It depends on you. The only important thing is that the customized necklace represents your giftee’s personality.

Diamond Wrist Watch

While the more common adage on diamonds is that “diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” it can also be said that “diamond wrist watches are a man’s best buddy.” Undeniably, men love wristwatches as a present to themselves and, more so, as gifts from others especially, when they are diamonds.

For instance, a diamond bezel wristwatch is timeless, classic, and elegant. It perfectly suits men who have high regard for formality and class. Thus, you’ll never go wrong with gifting a man close to you with this one.

Gemstone Ring

Typically, gold-filled rings are the ones given as keepsakes. But some appreciate the beauty of gems. Such that they love colored gemstone rings ranging from subtle pastels to bursting brights. The gemstone ring is another remarkable gift because of its uniqueness and rarity. Further, the colors of the gems make the ring more attractive and stunning.

In Conclusion

These pieces of jewelry hold the memories you and your gift recipient have. Jewelry as a present will surely last as it is one of the most precious pieces one can ever receive within his lifetime. It’s not only pretty to look at, but it also symbolizes bond, affection, and one’s worth.

58 WAYS TO SUPPORT LOWER MANHATTAN BUSINESSES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Maybe this year is the year to accept that the 2020 Holiday season will be different.

It’s not that long ago that we made it through the toughest two seasons to spend quarantined, spring, and summer. Is this not the time of the year, that most of us long for? Shedding our heavy winter clothes, and shaking off those dreary blues, not to mention those few extra pounds we put on over the long winter months, snuggled up with cookies, hot cocoa, and scrumptious Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding?

Wait… that was me I was talking about.

Personally, I think we need to be a little less worried about jumping on a plane to see Grandma and Grandpa, or jetting off to that island paradise just so you can jump in the beautiful piercing blue ocean in that new bikini, or parasail your way over the long white sandy beaches. It’s so overrated!

What’s not overrated is staying the course, thinking about others, do your part, from populating your travel miles with or picking up on your travels the worst virus in our lifetime.

Downtown Alliance compiled 58 Ways to Not Leave Lower Manhattan.

Holidays are a little different this year, with many people forgoing big family celebrations in favor of smaller, home-based events. All the more reason, then, to make your homebound holiday even more special.

If you’re sticking around Lower Manhattan, we’ve rounded up some great spots in the neighborhood for seasonal cheer. Here, we’ve included some tasty eateries, eclectic shops, and other local highlights. Note that most of these establishments have been hit hard during the pandemic and could use some extra help these days, so you’ll be giving back as much as you’re getting. Happy holidays!
