Hawaii is Coming to Manhattan’s Pier 26 on Jun. 11

unspecified

Downtown New York City has always been a hotbed for all of the best restaurants, exciting events and latest trends of 2016. Down here, no two weekends are ever the same. But if you’ve always wanted to take a trip to Hawaii and haven’t had the time or the funds, you are in luck — on June 11 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Hawaii is coming to Lower Manhattan.

Lower Manhattan is kicking off this summer at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 for a Hawaiian-themed festival and luau packed with Polynesian music and dance, food trucks, and a beer garden. This comes in addition to plenty of hands-on activities for children including lei-making and storytelling.

As if that were not enough, the event will also include the world’s most competitive outrigger races. 550 athletes from Hawaii to France will race in a 15-mile course adjacent to the World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty.unspecified-8

And there’s a chance to learn about the history of Hawaii and concepts near and dear to the Hawaiian culture. Present for the first time is Hokūle’a, the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s legendary canoe that has been sailing across the Earth’s oceans since 2013 to grow the global movement toward a more sustainable world.

The mission of Hokule‘a’s Malama Honua Worldwide Voyage, as sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, is to bring attention to the critical need to protect the Earth’s natural resources. After traveling to the Caribbean, Bali and in between, Hokule’a will arrive NYC and offer tours during the Liberty Challenge for attendees.

The festival runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm and the luau will be between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. This will give you plenty of time to come by and enjoy great fun and adventure with our Downtown team. We look forward to seeing you there!unspecified-3unspecified-4

If you’re trying to find an alternative to traditional holiday festivities, Santastical: A Very Merry Twistmas is probably what you’re looking for.

Psycho Clan, the artist group behind New York’s Nightmare Haunted House and Full Bunny Contact Extreme Egg Hunt, is putting on this decidedly adult-only Christmas event on the Lower East Side at 107 Suffolk St.

The event is an interactive, distorted holiday wonderland complete with activities and 6 different Santas including, but not limited to, Bernie Santa, Hannuklaus, and Hunky Shirtless Santa. A GA ticket gets you a photo with the Santa of your choice and access to the pretend ice-rinks, Christmas karaoke, mistletoe forest and holiday beverages.

“It’s as if the gaudiest Midwest Christmas lawn display exponentially exploded inside a NYC auditorium,” said Santastical creator Timothy Haskell in a quote on their website. “This is nostalgic, irreverent fun for adults who remember fondly (or not, we don’t give a sh*t) taking pictures with Santa at the mall. Except this time you can choose from 6 different types of Santas to take a picture with and you’re now about 2 feet taller and a hundred pounds heavier than you were.”

TOUS  recently celebrated the debut of its new ORIGINS collection in style. The spring and summer collection rediscovers the brand’s roots and timeless nature in an exciting way (emojis included). It beckons the journey of TOUS using past motifs and classic collections that have been innovated to pure, fresh and authentic assemblages.

The launch of this unique collection was nothing short of a hit. The New York City venue was filled with guests enjoying boho-chic music, cocktails, and of course, the fabulous jewelry on display. The space was infused with TOUS’ signature pink color scheme. Attendees could also be seen sharing their experience on social media networks, using the hashtag for the evening: #happinessbytous.

But of course, the highlight of the evening was the flawless jewelry on display. The collection sports florals and bright, vibrant colors, perfect for the spring and summer seasons. As beautiful as the pieces were, the designs are unique for their simple and almost traditional feel. The collection features a diverse assortment of pink gold, 18 carat gold, and sterling silver adornments. The Paraiso collection garnered notable attention; which includes a necklace, bracelet and ring, made from sterling silver vermeil, gold plated three times, and hydro-thermal gems. The flowery designs flaunt a familiar spring feel, featuring the brand’s most characteristic components.

TOUS is wholly committed  to preserving the luxury and splendor quality of its jewelry, and its new collection gracefully embodies those ideals. TOUS is a family-owned brand from Barcelona, delivering affordable luxury.

TOUS has two locations in New York City, one located in SoHo and in Rockefeller Center.
