CHIARA BONI Does It Again Spring/Summer 2019 Collection

Every Year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future. This is known as FASHION WEEK. “Carrie Bradshaw Sex And The City”

The greatest difference from years gone by is that NYFW has finally made its way downtown. If you give it some thought, NYFW should have always been downtown. Especially, when each year the fashion industry births something new and fresh. Like the Downtown area in New York City, the place which gave birth to this great city back in 1624 when the Dutch first settled along the Hudson River.  Thirty-odd years after the Dutch settled in New York, 1897 Paul Gauguin moved to Punaauia Tahiti where he created his masterpiece painting “Where Do We Come From”. Paul Gauguin lived the rest of his life in paradise on the Marquesas Islands.

Gauguin’s Tahitian influence was found this week in downtown New York at Chiara Boni’s NYFW Spring/summer collections.

Leave it to one of our favorite Italian designer’s Chiara Boni, to create her Spring/Summer 2019 designs which fully embody Paul Gauguin’s bold and beautiful tropical greenery. These luscious fragrant colors sitting front and center during her show yesterday transformed you to this majestic tropical island. Chiara’s use of bold colors and rhythmic surface patterns were a priority. Her pieces exude feminine elegance, a must for next years fashion.

For the Spring/Summer 2019 season, Chiara Boni La Petite Robe was truly inspired by the vibrant and suggestive Tahitian painting colors, and the whimsical style of Paul Gauguin.

We saw vivid, warm tones of orange, yellow, amber, red and black cherry, these colors enhance the joy of Spring and invite you to find a happy place within her collection. We are sure that Chiara’s 2019 designs will bring you to a spicy and energetic summer. The fabric movement of this collection was free, fun and expressive.

“Chiara Boni, for her Spring/Summer 2019 designs fully embody Paul Gauguin’s bold and beautiful tropical greenery”

Chiara’s seasonal fabric prints took center stage in her shows lineup, reflecting the brand’s signature polished sophistication. This collection features a more naïf look, a graphic appeal, her flamboyant patterns are paired with ultra-feminine silhouettes, for a charming explosion of positive joie de vivre.

You felt ultra-feminine just by viewing this fresh, bold yet feminine, artistic collection.

“Chiara Boni’s Spring/Summer 2019 Collection is a must for every wardrobe”

Italian designer Chiara Boni established her label Chiara Boni La Petite Robe in 2007. It quickly gained universal acclaim and acquired a ‘cult’ status between its loyal customer base and celebrity following. By 2009 the brand began its international expansion and is now sold in premier boutiques in Europe, United Emirates, Canada, and the USA. Chiara Boni La Petite Robe, sold in the USA at top department stores including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

“A bit more about the designer Chiara Boni”

Boni developed her design aesthetic in the rebellious punk London spirit of the 1970s. Self-taught in the art of design, Boni frequented the Parisian ateliers of established couturiers, where she learned the secrets of the female figure. Fusing these two points of view resulted in Boni’s signature discreetly sexy dresses and separates that enhance a woman’s natural beauty. From 1985 – 1999, Chiara joined the GFT group, which produced leading Italian Prêt-àPorter labels. After a break from design, Chiara returned to her true passion in 2007 with the launch of her collection.

“She has created a cult following of women, from celebrities to television anchor personalities, to today’s leading professional and woman of leisure”

Elegant, timeless, seasonless and great fit are key words in describing Chiara Boni La Petite Robe Collection. Chiara Boni is a dynamic and well-traveled woman, created a collection to meet the needs of today’s women. The Secret of her creative clothing begins with very eco-friendly stretch fabrics developed by Chiara. The Collection consists of dresses, pants, skirts, and jackets all easy care perfectly folded up in an organza pouch. The ideal wardrobe for traveling.

“Why Women flock to her designs”

She has created a cult following of women, from celebrities to television anchor personalities, to today’s leading professional and woman of leisure. La Petite Robe was born in 2007 and since then this Collection represents a choice of Style at very competitive prices.

In 2009, thanks in cooperation with her new partner, the Brand started its expansion through international markets. Chiara Boni designs are sold throughout Europe, United Emirates. In 2010 the Collection was introduced and has been very well received in the USA and Canada. We are currently selling the best high-end department stores and the best specialty boutiques throughout the world.

Expert Skincare Advice for Summery, Glowing Skin

When it comes to beauty, having healthy skin is a must. After all, you can’t build a beautiful skyscraper without building a solid foundation first, right? In order to find out some expert skincare advice regarding healthy skin, how to achieve it, and what products really work, I had the pleasure of interviewing COS BAR‘s skin expert Maria Campitiello. Through following these tips, you can achieve that summery, glowing look that we all long for each year!

Expert Skincare Advice

What are your top three holy grail products for achieving glowing, summery skin?

Diamond Instant Glow from Natura Bisse is perfect all year round glow-getting treatment.  You need to exfoliate, even in the summer, and this gentle chemical peel comes in a glass ampule, so it’s stable and pure.  Spread over cleansed skin, leaveon for 8 minutes and rinse.  Follow that with a radiance ampule, the contents of which are absorbed after a minute, then do the same with the lift ampule.  In 10 minutes, you have a result that rivals the glowing, fresh complexion you have after, a facial.

Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Glow Drops transform and revitalizes dull skin.  It has ingredients that will optimize skin tone, refine the pores and create a visible youthful radiance.  You can cocktail it with other serums, add to your face cream or foundation, or just tap it into your skin directly.  It creates a beautiful, natural glow without a trace of shimmer.

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Glow Stick is your glow on the go – a double ended stick with a bright poppy colored creamy blush on one end, and the most gorgeous golden radiance highlighter on the other.  You can apply with fingers or a brush and adjust the intensity to customize your glow.

For those of us to love to sunbathe; how harmful is the sun on our skin?

It’s not great.  I recommend avoiding the face and neck.  The ReVive Solaire Superieur SPF 50+++ is awesome over your normal skincare routine.  It’s super protection and has a light, primer-like texture that wears well under makeup.  Sunleya SPF 50 by Sisley is a complete anti-aging moisturizer that happens to provide great protection, too.

What is the most important step in a given skincare routine?

I believe that cleansing is the most important step.  It’s important to wash off the day’s dirt, pollutants and irritants so that your skin is free to repair and restore itself.

At what age should one start practicing a skincare regimen to avoid wrinkles and maintain healthy, young-looking skin?

You’re never too young for sun protection.  Eye-cream is important by your mid 20’s because the skin around the eyes is thin and delicate.  You want to keep it moist and plump to counterbalance all the rubbing during allergy season and the tugging you do when you wing your liner.

What other products, besides skincare, would you recommend to someone looking to take care of their skin from a holistic standpoint?

Skincare Advice

Tata Harper Body Oil.  Organic, clean and natural – it does a great job keeping skin supple with a soft glow.  Also, 8Greens and Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Skin Food are supplements designed to lower inflammation in the body, which leads to better (much better) skin.

What products would you recommend to someone on a budget, but who is willing to splurge on one or two items that will truly make a difference in his/her skin?

Amore Pacific Future Response Eye Cream – two chambers, one with an eye cream per day with SPF that protects and prevents damage, the other with a night cream for eyes that repairs and restores.

La Prairie Line Interception Power Duo – same concept.  Two chambers that dispense separately, one with a day cream and one with a night cream.  The textures are amazing and the products work!

TRENDY SWIMSUITS YOU NEED THIS SUMMER

It’s a hot summer day, your beach bag is all packed, you’ve applied your SPF and your ride will be outside to pick you up soon. It’s time to get dressed and you realize that all of your swimsuits either don’t fit you anymore, look worn out, or are straight up out of style at this point! What better way to avoid this crisis than to splurge on a couple of cute new TRENDY SWIMSUITS for the season? Well, Downtowners, we’ve got you covered. Ladies, if you’re looking for some fashion inspo, or some new brands to try out, Beach Bunny Swimwear just released two new limited edition collections in collaboration with models Chanel Iman and Shanina Shaik, and they are to die for. Whether you like to flaunt your figure in a bikini, or you prefer to keep it cute and conservative in a one piece, these two collections will have something for everyone, with each piece having its own unique twist. And for the guys, this year is all about bright summery colors and funky patterns. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite pieces for this summer.

TRENDY SUITS FOR WOMEN

CHANEL IMAN X BEACH BUNNY WRAP TOP & SKIMPY BOTTOM BLACK

This sleek, black bikini set takes a trendiest swimsuit twist on a classic look. We’ve been seeing cut-out style bathing suits all over the place lately, including on celebs like Kourtney Kardashian and Olivia Culpo. What’s unique about this suit is that it gives the visual effect of a cut-out suit, whilst also being a two piece. This suit shows some skin but still leaves a little bit more to the imagination than the average bikini – which is why we love it. You’ll be sure to dazzle the sands in this suit this season.

Chanel Iman x Beach Bunny Off Shoulder Top & Tieside Bottom – Denim Blue

Okay – what’s not to love about this trendy suit? It features a tie-up top which is so on trend at the moment, along with an off-the-shoulder look which makes this suit look extra fashionable. The bow ties on the top and bottom make this suit appear super feminine and chic. The denim blue shade of this suit is what really caught our eye – it’s not every day that you see a bathing suit inspired by denim, and we think that’s pretty unique and special. To get the most bang for your buck, pair this top with a pair of denim or white shorts and you have the perfect summery vacation outfit. If you’re looking for a fun, feminine, trendy, and unique look this season, this suit is just right for you.

Shanina Shaik x Beach Bunny Wrap Top & Tango Bottom Berry Stripe

If you’re looking for a flirty, feminine look to hit the beach in, look no further. This suit designed by Shanina Shaik is to die for; with a trendy ruffle detailing on the top and bottoms, and the also super trendy cross tie on the top, it doesn’t get much cuter than this. The berry color of the suit flatters all skin tones, and the stripe pattern is so in right now. Our favorite feature of these summer 2018 trendy swimsuits has to be the ruffle sleeves which connect to form a deep-V neckline. This suit is so fun and stylish; you really can’t go wrong with it.

Shanina Shaik x Beach Bunny Ruffle One-Piece – Berry

Calling all girly-girls – this suit was made for you. Featuring a ruffle-top detail and the most charming berry pink color, this suit is so classic, with its own little unique features. Perhaps one of the best and most practical reasons to love this suit is that it has adjustable straps (!!), which is surprisingly so hard to find in a bathing suit these days! The high cut of the bathing suit will show off your legs in the best way. Not to mention that one-piece bathing suits are the biggest trend in swimwear right now; celebs like Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid, and Kylie Jenner have all been spotted wearing the cutest one pieces lately, similar to this one. If you’d like to stay on trend while also investing in a classic, good quality piece, this bathing suit is perfect for you.

TRENDY SWIMSUITS FOR MEN

PALM PRINT SWIM TRUNKS – TOM AND TEDDY https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tom-teddy-palm-print-swim-trunks

You know what they say: real men wear pink. We believe that that couldn’t be truer, and what better way to show it than to wear the nicest pastel pink pair of swim trunks? This pair by Tom and Teddy is so on trend with its pastel colors, and the blue palm tree pattern makes this suit so fun. The pastel pink color would look good on all skin tones, as well. This is the perfect men’s trendy swim suit for a tropical getaway or even just a trip to your local beach.

Nautica Anchor All Over Print Swim Trunks – https://www.dillards.com/p/nautica-anchor-all-over-print-swim-

Nothing says summer quite like the combination of navy blue, white, and an anchor pattern. This Nautica suit has the classic, quintessential summer look you might be looking for this season. This 2018 trendy swimsuit would surely flatter all who wear it, and the price can’t be beat. Channel your inner sailor and give this suit a try!

Original Penguin – Floral Printed Swim Trunks https://www.saksfifthavenue.com

Floral patterns are so on trend for both girls and guys right now, and we’re loving it. This pair of swim trendy swim trunks by Original Penguin is so fun and on trend, whilst giving a masculine, tropical vibe with its deep blue hue and hibiscus flower pattern as well. If you’d like something classic with a pop of color, this suit is perfect for you.

R09M Launches E-Commerce for In-House Collection

The beginning of August was big for R09M — pronounced “Room 9” — the in-house capsule collection from the namesake boutique located at Haven Montauk, as they unveil its first foray into e-commerce, just in time for the dog days of summer.

The capsule collection was conceptualized around the surfing heritage of Montauk and its environs, created to compliment the boutique’s assortment of luxe, emerging brands and established designers currently on offer.

Alongside an assortment of luxury goods from buzzy emerging and established men’s and womenswear brands, a curated selection of vintage, and other East End essentials, R09M’s own collection has been a best-seller for summer 2017, client demand prompting the founders to take the plunge into e-commerce.

Consisting of a limited production run of too cozy hoodies, sweatpants, tees, hats, and a custom-created candle, the R09M collection is designed and curated by Palmiers du Mal Creative Director Shane Fonner, who plans to expand the assortment to include a fully fleshed-out cut and sew collection for next summer and beyond. The current assortment focuses on Montauk’s vintage and retro feel, and provides the necessary pieces for the ever-changing East End weather.

R09M’s summer 2017 selection offers Montauk-exclusive pieces from BLACKSEA, Palmiers du Mal, Aime Leon Dore, Alix, Rescue Skin, Rochambeau, Crash Baggage, Yestadt Millinery, and Hasta Sporting, in addition to a series of pop-ups and trunk shows, and an exclusive beach blanket from neighboring men’s brand Adam Mar. The shop also features a selection of designer vintage goods from Form Vintage.

“Travel has been an integral part of both my and Jane’s design process for Palmiers du Mal and BLACKSEA, so we couldn’t be more excited for our first retail concept to be in partnership with a hotel, especially one that is as laid back and effortlessly cool as Haven,” says Shane Fonner about the R09M’s opening.

“Plus, I’ve been coming to Montauk for years, and it holds a really special place for me. I’d love to spend even more time, and perhaps set up a creative studio here to capitalize on the inspiration all around,” she added.

R09M is proud to launch as a partnership between friends, so let the good vibes flow all summer long.

The limited-run assortment now makes its online debut, shop-able from anywhere in the continental U.S. and in preparation for further expansion for coming summer seasons. Click here to shop.
