A reminder from the New York Times that Manhattanhenge 2016 kicks off on Sunday, May 29. Starting around 8:12 PM, spectators are treated to the rare experience of the setting sun aligning “perfectly with the numbered streets that run east and west on Manhattan’s city grid, bathing traffic and skyscrapers in its warm red light.” The same event will occur the following night on Monday, May 30 around 8:12 PM.
For those out of town for this Memorial Day holiday weekend, Manhattanhenge returns on July 11 and 12.
