There is no better way to experience New York than on a NYC sunset sail with tapas aboard Classic Harbor Line’s America 2.0.
There’s something magical about a New York City sunset, especially when witnessed from the deck of a schooner gliding across the Hudson. A few nights ago, I had the pleasure of experiencing Classic Harbor Line’s NYC’s Sunset Sail with Tapas.
Let’s start with the obvious: the view. As golden light poured over the skyline, the city shimmered in that unmistakable way only New York can. It’s breathtaking, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.
But what truly elevated the experience was the culinary artistry of Chef Niekia “Nikki” Williams.
Every single bite was a celebration. Her curated tapas menu, served in three elegant rounds, was a mouthwatering mosaic of flavor, from seared scallops and caviar to delicate smoked trout and a bold ahi tuna.
Each plate was as beautiful as it was delicious, and it felt more like an indulgent private tasting than a public sail.
The second best thing to the sunset? The food. Chef Niekia “Nikki” Williams curated a flawless tapas menu, each bite a mini celebration of flavor and artistry.
Everything was as delectable as it was beautifully presented. Paired with a glass of sparkling wine (included with the cruise), the experience felt both indulgent and intimate.

What I admire most about Classic Harbor Line, and why I keep coming back, is their unwavering attention to detail and hospitality.
The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows. Their boats are among the finest in the New York area, but it’s the people who make the experience unforgettable.
Chef Nikki is the latest jewel in their crown. I can’t recommend this sail enough, for visitors, locals, and anyone craving beauty, great food, and a touch of wonder.

Classic Harbor Line has been an iconic part of the New York maritime scene since its founding in 1994 by Scarano Boat Building, initially operating under the name “Sailing Excursions” before evolving into the distinguished fleet we know today .
Their classic-style yachts, 14 in all, are all designed and hand-built by Scarano in Albany, NY, and have become beloved fixtures along the Hudson.

This dedication extends beyond navigation: they don’t just own and operate their fleet, they build it, ensuring each vessel embodies their ethos of elegance, history, and hands-on quality. It’s a legacy that deepens the sense of trust and admiration you feel stepping aboard one of their yachts.
